Martin J. Snider, J.D.
Martin J. Snider, attorney, has more than thirty years of experience focusing on a plethora of civil law areas including board governance, nonprofit entities, employment, and educational institutions. He has been President of a medical center board, and is counsel to the third largest community college in Maryland. He is known not only for his exceptional skills as an attorney, but for his insights into people, relationships and organizations.
Early in his professional career he was Adjunct Professor of Law at the Washington College of Law, American University where he was the Assistant Director of a clinical law program. He is recognized as an outstanding teacher and mentor, offering support to organizations of all sizes. He served as chair of the finance committee for the prestigious Ginger Cove Retirement Community in Annapolis, Maryland. He was counsel to The Summit School for twenty-two years, helping the school make critical decisions since its inception. Mr. Snider has trained institutions about workplace violence, prevention, harassment issues, and helped many organizations set standards and create policies to protect employers and employees.
As a consultant to Heads-Up, Mr. Snider brings his commitment to schools, nonprofits, and boards. He understands the stressors of leaders, CEO's and board chairs alike, and is able to guide each individual as they grapple with difficult issues within their administrative responsibilities. He is skilled at building trusting relationships with faculty, staff, administration, elected officials and business leaders.
Martin Snider is a graduate of Boston University where he majored in history and philosophy, and earned a Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School. His nonprofit work and trainings have taken him throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area into Maryland and Virginia, and as far north as Maine.
